Wedding Ceremony

Florian Music provides one hour of service for a wedding ceremony:
  • 20-30 minutes of prelude music before the ceremony
  • Music for seating of grandmothers and mothers
  • Processional for attendants
  • Processional for bride
  • Recessional for wedding party
  • Postlude for guests to depart (5-10 minutes)
  • If requested, we will perform during the ceremony for the lighting of a unity candle, musical interlude, hymn, etc.
It is recommended that you talk to the officiant to determine the length of your ceremony. Prices can be prorated if the ceremony is certain to be longer than one hour.


Outdoor Ceremonies

  • Yes, we can play outdoors, weather permitting. Our instruments are subject to severe damage from weather; therefore, we must take precautions.
  • We absolutely cannot perform in the rain. If there is the threat of rain, we must have appropriate shelter. A sturdy tent is sufficient as long as it has sides.
  • Our musical instruments must be protected from the sun as well, either by a largely shaded area, tent, or other.
  • Extreme temperatures (below 65/above 95 degrees) are not only damaging to our instruments but also make it very uncomfortable for us to perform. Please remember that our goal is to provide you with the best possible performance for your special day.
  • If there is any question about your particular outdoor event in regards to temperature and shelter, please do not hesitate to ask.


Music Selections

Florian Music will provide music lists and demo cds to help you select music for your ceremony. We will do whatever we can to provide the music that you desire. However, we reserve the right to refuse any selection that is not suitable to our ensemble. If you request a selection that is not in our library, there will be an additional fee for the purchase and arrangement of the selection. Please be sure to talk to us well in advance of your ceremony if you have any special requests.



Rehearsal

We find that it is not advantageous for the musicians to be at your rehearsal. Although each wedding is unique, we are confident that with our experience and through the guidance of the wedding director or officiant, the event will run smoothly.

If you would be more comfortable having a member of Florian Music attend the rehearsal, this can be arranged for an additional fee.



Vocalists

We can accompany vocalists, however, some vocalists are not comfortable singing with a string trio or quartet. Discuss this matter with your vocalist and inform Florian Music as soon as possible of the selection and in what key the vocalist will be singing. If the musical selection is not already in our repertoire, there will be an additional fee for the purchase and arrangement of the selection. We can rehearse with vocalists 25-30 minutes prior to prelude music. If additional time is needed, the fee will be be prorated.



Dancing

Although we have played waltzes for dancing and tunes such as "Stardust", if you are looking to dance to popular and contemporary music, we suggest having a DJ. We would, however, be happy to provide music during cocktail hour or dinner.
